Release 1.7 introduced the Compare Historical Rates tool - a DeFi rate analytics dashboard that lets users compare lending and borrowing rates across major protocols over time.

What it does

  • Displays historical interest rate data for lending and borrowing across DeFi protocols
  • Allows side-by-side comparison of fixed rates (SmartCredit.io) vs. variable rates (Aave, Compound, and others)
  • Helps lenders and borrowers identify the best rate environment for their strategy
  • Sourced via the DefiLlama Yield API

Why it matters

Variable rates in DeFi fluctuate significantly. A rate that looks attractive today may be half that in a month. Historical rate comparison gives users the context to evaluate whether the current rate environment favors fixed or variable, and to time their lending or borrowing decisions accordingly.
